Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ) Rector Prof. Dr. R. Cüneyt Erenoğlu met with local government and NGO representatives in Çan.
Participants of the Çan Workshop included Çan District Governor Dr. Emre Nebioğlu, Deputy Mayor Harun Arslan, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Evren Karayel Gökkaya, Dean of Çan Faculty of Applied Sciences Prof. Dr. Serdar Kurt, Director of Çan Vocational School Lecturer Akın Arslan, NGO representatives, and academics.
Rector Erenoğlu highlighted the significant potential of Çan, with its historical and natural beauties, and emphasized that ÇOMÜ is working with all its might to contribute to the development of Çan by leveraging this potential. He stated:
“Our university began its educational activities in Çan with the establishment of Çan Vocational School in 1999. Since the establishment of the Çan Faculty of Applied Sciences in 2018, educational, research, and community contribution activities have continued to increase in Çan. In line with our university’s renewed vision and mission, we aim to contribute more to the Çan district. This workshop, where we will discuss the needs of the Çan district and how our university can meet these needs, aims to further strengthen the collaborations between our university and the district and to initiate the necessary work to implement the proposals that will emerge.”
The workshop concluded with discussions on possible collaboration topics and the exchange of ideas.
