The launch of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University's (ÇOMÜ) Strategic Plan, aimed at addressing the changing needs, expectations, and challenges of our city and the world, and becoming a leading university in all fields from education to arts, culture, and sports, was held at the İÇDAŞ Kara Yusuf Conference Center.

The ceremony was attended by Çanakkale Governor İlhami Aktaş, Çanakkale Members of Parliament Ayhan Gider and Rıdvan Uz, 28th Term Konya Member of Parliament Ünal Karaman, ÇOMÜ Rector Prof. Dr. R. Cüneyt Erenoğlu, Çanakkale Bar Association President Av. Hande Keskin, Gallipoli Historical Site President İsmail Kaşdemir and his wife Özlem Kaşdemir, Provincial Police Chief Selim Arıcı and his wife Nebahat Arıcı, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Senior Colonel Sadi Akman, Coast Guard Group Commander Lt. Col. Ercan Oran, Gendarmerie Special Training Center Commander Colonel Ufuk Yetiş, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Dinçay Köksal and Prof. Dr. Evren Karayel Gökkaya, ÇOMÜ academic and administrative managers, representatives from public institutions, private sector representatives, NGO representatives, academic and administrative staff, and students.

After a moment of silence and the national anthem, a brief musical performance was given by Lecturer Sedat Çılgın.

The 2024-2028 Strategic Plan, which included the participation of all university stakeholders, was introduced by Financial Services Expert Tuğçe Altuntaş from the Directorate of Strategy Development.

In her speech, Altuntaş provided information on the mission, vision, and core values of the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan. She gave a presentation covering the legal basis, preparation stages, values, differentiation strategies, activity areas, strategy development areas, and the main themes of ÇOMÜ's new five-year strategic plan.

Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Dinçay Köksal highlighted that ÇOMÜ's primary areas of activity are education, teaching, research, and production. In his presentation on the 2024-2028 Strategic Plan, Prof. Dr. Köksal discussed the policy documents related to quality policy, management system policy, education policy, research policy, societal contribution policy, internationalization policy, and sustainability policy.

The launch concluded with the transition to the second part of the program, the ÇOMÜ 2023 Excellence Awards Ceremony.
