Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Rector Prof. Dr. R. Cüneyt Erenoğlu, along with Gökçeada Deputy Mayor Ercan İpek, convened with local government and NGO representatives in Gökçeada for the Gökçeada Workshop.

The meeting was attended by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Dinçay Köksal and Prof. Dr. Evren Karayel Gökkaya, Deputy Secretary General Lecturer Tanju Güdük, Director of Gökçeada School of Applied Sciences Dr. Lecturer Hande Kandur Arslan, Director of Gökçeada Vocational School Dr. Lecturer Gülay Keskin, and directors and academic staff from all vocational schools affiliated with Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. The discussions focused on the collaboration between the university and local government, aiming to improve sustainable living conditions in Gökçeada through university-NGO partnerships.

Based on the views and suggestions of the NGO representatives, topics such as coastal tourism, water sports, organic farming, natural resource utilization, and waste management were brought to the agenda. Ideas and resources for projects related to these topics were discussed. The workshop, with high participation from Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University academic staff, was warmly received in Gökçeada.
