Opening of the Student Deanery and Face2Face Meeting Held

The Student Deanery, established with the mission of contributing to the individual, cultural, and social development of all students at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University (ÇOMÜ), as well as creating a supportive university environment that can affect their development and success during their studies, was inaugurated at ÖSEM.

The opening ceremony, held with the participation of Rector Prof. Dr. R. Cüneyt Erenoğlu, was attended by ÇOMÜ administrators, academics, and students.

Student Dean Prof. Dr. Bülent Güven emphasized the significance of the Student Deanery in terms of student participation in university governance. He stated, "Our student senate has been established. In the process of determining our senate, we followed a regulation. According to this regulation, third-year students who have achieved the highest degree of success and continuity represent their faculties and schools in the senate. Many of our students are currently members of our senate, where your requests, complaints, and suggestions are discussed."

This Deanery Belongs Entirely to Our Students

Rector Erenoğlu highlighted that only a few universities in Turkey have a Student Deanery and that Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University is among them. He said, "This deanery belongs entirely to our students. We have nearly 50,000 students at our university. With this strength, we can achieve any project. We will support and work together with our students on projects related to Green Transformation, the Green Deal, Sustainability, Eco Campus, TÜBİTAK 2209 Projects, and Social Responsibility Projects. By participating in these projects, our students will build a network for themselves. We also want them to be involved in sports, academic activities, club activities, and develop themselves in every field. Through the feedback from our students, we are renewing and developing the practical areas of our university."

Following the opening of the Student Deanery, Rector Erenoğlu met with students during the Face2Face event, where he provided information and recommendations on topics such as Social Transcript and the Alumni Communication System (MİS). He answered students' questions and engaged in an exchange of ideas.
